About Me
audio visual equipment selection and set up

As a party planner, I have spent many hours trying to find the right audio visual components for the different occasions that I have to plan for. Teenagers love to have movies played in the backgrounds of their parties. Brides love to have pictures of their courting days with their new grooms. Families enjoy watching videos and picture slides of the years that have gone by at reunions. All of the time that I have spent searching and setting up the equipment has given me a lot of knowledge to share. My site will help you learn the basics of buying or renting equipment and setting it up for the perfect resolution.

3 Ideas To Automate Your Home With Technology

Jill Garcia

Have you always desired to turn your home into a smart home, but do not know where to start? Here are some fun ideas that can make it feel like your home is more automated to make life easier.

Smart Locks

There are many benefits of having smart locks installed on your main entry doors. The main reason is to simplify who can get in and out of your house and have complete control over it. This may be important if you normally give a key to people to enter your home, such as a cleaning service, dog walker, or even a babysitter. You can assign access to certain people by giving them a unique code that can be revoked, get alerts for when those codes were used, and even look at an activity log. Smart locks can even tie into your digital assistants by locking all the doors to your home with voice commands

Smart Lighting

There are a few ways to transform your home's smart lighting, but the easiest way is to switch out all of the old light bulbs with smart light bulbs. These connect to a hub in your home that allows you to control every single light inside and outside your home and lets you take full control of your lighting. While you can also switch to smart lighting by swapping out plugs and light switches, using smart light bulbs is the easiest way to do it and ensures compatibility with homes that have old wiring.

With the light bulbs in place, you can assign a group of light bulbs to certain rooms, give the group a name, and control that group with your digital assistant. You can create schedules for when lights turn on, what level the light is dimmed to, and even control the color of the light bulb. Improve your home security by creating a schedule that looks like someone is home if you are actually away on vacation, by making every room of your home light up at different times.

Smart Doorbells

Something that many people have these days are smart doorbells, which act as a communication device and security camera. You can get automatic motion alerts when someone approaches your home, and even be able to talk to them through your phone as if you are at home. This can be a great way to see everyone that enters and exits your home, and even see when packages arrive and if anyone steals them.
